At first, I was testing out different video formats some with my face, and others completely faceless using only text, stock clips, AI voiceovers, or music. What I found out is that the type of audience you’re speaking to really determines how effective your format will be.




 

There are two types of viewers I noticed:

  1. Those who want connection – These viewers prefer to see a real face. They enjoy watching expressions, eye movements, hand gestures—anything that helps them connect with the creator. I’ve personally found this group to be more engaged and loyal. They tend to follow and come back every week just to see what you're up to.

  2. Those who love the mystery – On the flip side, there are people who prefer anonymity and minimalism. They don’t care who’s behind the content. They just want value from the video—whether it's a story, tip, or entertainment. For this group, AI-generated voices, on-screen captions, or just music with visuals work perfectly.


🧪 My Content Strategy – A Mix of Everything

Through trial and error, I’ve come up with a hybrid strategy that works well for me. Here’s what I do:

  • I sometimes show my face briefly at the start or end of the video.

  • I mix things up with AI voiceovers, or use my own voice for storytelling.

  • I often add on-screen captions for accessibility and silent viewers.

  • Some videos don’t even have a voice—they’re just music, visuals, and bold text.

And guess what? All of these styles still get me views, likes, and even shares.


 

This mix allows me to appeal to both viewer types, and more importantly, keeps my content fresh and dynamic.
